RiverGate Church continues to pound at the stake of pursuit. We are determined that God has more than we have experienced and learned! We are not controlling. We are not afraid! We do not believe in resisting the Holy Spirit. We are happy about God and what He is doing, and we will not lose heart in believing in Jesus no matter what is happening in the world. Come experience healing, deliverance, breaking of addictions, and restoration of what God made you for. Gods heart is for you! And so is ours!
We believe there is only one God and in His being 3 equal persons unified as one Godhead. God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the His spirit the Holy Spirit. (1 Jn. 5:7; 2 Cor. 13:14; Gen. 1:26; 1 Tim 1:17)
Coexistent and coeternal with the Father, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus took upon Himself the form of man: and by His becoming obedient unto death, bearing the curse of sin, sickness and sorrow, redeemed us back to God. He arose the third day and ascended into Heaven, where He sits on the right hand of God, the Father, where He lives to make intercession for us. (Jn. 1:1-3; Matt. 1:23; 1 Tim. 2-5; Eph. 2:18; Phil. 2:6-11)
We believe the Bible is the Holy Spirit inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. (Matt. 24:35; Ps. 119:89; 2 Tim. 2:15, 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe that Christ was the Lamb of God, foreordained from the foundation of the world, and by the shedding of His blood on the cross, made provisions for salvation of ALL mankind. (1 Peter 1:19-20; Isa. 53:5; Titus 2:14; Heb. 7:25)
We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a definite experience, not identical with conversion. The initial evidence of this experience may be speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to endue the believer with power from on high; to give inspired utterance in witnessing for Christ; to lead the believer into holiness and sobriety; and to equip him for a practical, efficient, Spirit-filled soul-winning ministry and service in the Body of Christ. (Jn. 14:16; Acts 1:8, 2:4, 2:38-39; 19:6; 1 Cor. 3:16)
The Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, coexistent and equal with the Father. He is sent by the Father, through the Son, to reprove the world of sin and prepare the bride of Christ. (Jn. 14:26, 15:26, 16:8)
God created man (Adam) and woman (Eve) and gave them authority over all the earth as ambassadors under Himself. (Gen. 1:27)
Adam and Eve were given the freedom to choose right and wrong. They chose to disobey God instead of trust Him and His heart for them. This act of disobedience opened Adam and Eve’s eyes to sin and all of humanity has suffered being born with a sinful heart as a result. (Gen 3)
We believe that water baptism by immersion, in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit is commanded by God; that it is subsequent to conversion, which it is not a saving ordinance, but an outward sign of an inward work. (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Acts 2:38)
We believe that the believer should experience a continual renewing of the power from on high; that the Holy Spirit is as a gentle dove; easily grieved and wounded by the coldness, prayerlessness, idle conversation, worldliness, and judging and criticizing spirit; therefore, it is the will of God that we walk and abide in the Spirit. (Acts 4:31; Eph. 4:30-32, 5:18; 1 Cor. 3:17; Gal. 5:16-25; 1 Jn. 2:6)
